Despite this bogus amount received from the federation account every month, Zebra News reports that some of these states have not fared better in ameliorating the sufferings of their citizens amid hunger protests across the country.

Nigerians nationwide are struggling to afford food and earn a living. Currently, the country is witnessing a spontaneous public outcries and demonstrations in protest of rising cost of living as major government policies fuel inflation, while eroding the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians.

State governors are not accountable. No one is asking questions how these governors are spending these monies. Despite the monthly allocations with serial federal intervention funds to alleviate poverty, the standard of living of citizens is poor and nothing to write home about.

In his nationwide broadcast to Nigerians on Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said his administration has released over N570 billion to the 36 states to expand livelihood support to citizens across the country.

Only God knows how these monies are being spent by some state governors without any meaningful impact on their citizens.

It is time for Nigerians to start asking questions and hold their governors accountable since the opposition parties in the country have failed in this responsibility, Zebra News reports.
