Man remanded for alleged defilement of Teenage girl in Lagos

The Badagry Magistrate Court in Lagos on Thursday, ordered the remand of a 28-year-old man, Stanley Amos, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, directed that Amos be held in the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre in Badagry after he pleaded not guilty to defilement.

The magistrate also ordered that the case file should be duplicated and sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Earlier, the police prosecutor, Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 22, 2024.

Adeosun said the incident occurred at about 3.00 pm at the Caroline Area of Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos State.

According to the prosecutor, the offence committed contravened Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Consequently, Magistrate Adekomaiya, adjourned the case till November 25, 2024, for a ruling on Amos’ bail application and DPP’s
