Ondo South Senatorial Elect, Nicholas Tofowomo

Otunba Nicholas Tofowomo, the Senator-elect for Ondo South, has commended the judiciary over the judgement of Osun-State Election Petition Tribunal where the Mandate bestowed on Senator Ademola Adeleke, governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the last year’s election by the People of Osun-State was restored to him by the Tribunal after it was stolen by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in collusion with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a congratulatory message to Adeleke through a statement made available to the press by Akinrinlola Olumide, Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Tofowomo asked INEC to apologise to the good people of Osun-State and the country over the high rate of inconclusive elections across the Nigeria which he said the electoral umpire is being used to rig elections for the ruling APC.

He says that INEC is a department of APC while its officers are members of the ruling party.

Part of the statement reads:

“INEC is a department of APC and its officers are card-carrying members of the party. The electoral umpire is truncating democracy gradually with inconclusive elections to subvert the will of the people for the ruling APC across the country.

“Democracy is fading out gradually and if care is not taken, Nigerians may wake up one day and discover that democracy is gone.

“INEC should apologise to the good people of Osun-State and the entire nation for allowing itself to be used as agent of electoral malpractices working for the APC to steal People’s Mandate through inconclusive elections in Nigeria,” the statement added.
