12 Arrested Aides Of Sunday Igboho To Appear In Court On Sallah Day As Judges Fails To Take Up Case

A Lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi has said that the 12 arrested aides of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho will be appearing before a judge on Salah day. Recall that the men of the Department of State Services had stormed the house of the warlord, where two of his men were killed and several others arrested.

Meanwhile, Zebra News have also gathered that judges are avoiding the matter because of its sensitive nature. The source who spoke to Punch said, “In fact, two judges initially declined to take up the suit when it was assigned to their courts before it was taken up by Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court 9, Abuja.”

Pelumi said though the Federal Government has declared Tuesday and Wednesday as holiday to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the court insisted that it would hear the case on Tuesday. Igboho who narrowly escaped been arrested was later declared wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he denied.
