Notable Nigerian Leaders have join voices to celebrate former governor of Ondo State, Chief Dr. Olusegun Mimiko on the occasion of his 67th birthday.
In a statement signed by Akinrinlola Olumide, Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity, to Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, and send to Zebra News; the Lawmaker representing Ondo South at the Senate, while eulogizing Mimiko, advocates for a “Mimiko Day” in the state.
“Mimiko Day” should be celebrated every year in Ondo State on the 3rd of October to commemorate Mimiko’s leadership values which distinguished him as the fifth Executive Governor of Ondo State.
According to the Senator,” Dr Mimiko’s approach to governance in Ondo State created a typical example of leadership. Everything about him speaks of quality leadership. I feel very privileged and fortunate enough to have worked with him as a Commissioner of Transport under his administration.
“I can’t forget the free school shuttle buses project which was conveying over 56,000 pupils under his administration as a respite to parents of Ondo State students – a project that is dead now. What about his Abiye and Agbebiye health programmes? They are no longer functioning. His Mother and Child Hospitals are struggling to survive now. The Emergency Medical Services established by him to help accident victim is also dead”.
“Dr Mimiko is a true leader who helps his followers to grow and created unrestricted access to good governance for the good citizens of Ondo State. Honestly, he deserves to be celebrated by Ondo State Government for his service to humanity. The government should declare every 3rd of October every year in Ondo State as “Mimiko Day” to commemorate his leadership values which distinguished him as the fifth Executive Governor of Ondo State.
Also the immediate and former deputy governor of Ondo State, Chief Agboola Ajayi shower praises on Mimiko, in his words, “Your Excellency, as you celebrate yet another birthday today, I greet you on behalf of my family, friends, well-wishers particularly the good people of our dear Sunshine State.”
“These few years that I have worked with you, you have displayed rare leadership qualities. You’re a worthy leader who handles others by using your heart. “Your Excellency’s outstanding records, innovations and achievements in the various sectors during your eight year term as the governor of our dear state remain unbeatable.”
“May God Almighty continue to grant you more wisdom and good health as our shining example. Once again, happy birthday and I wish Your Excellency many more years to witness a better Nigeria.” he prayed.
