Aiyedatiwa’s Campaign Coordinator Murdered in Cold Blood

Tragedy struck the political landscape in Ondo State as Alaba Excel Abbey, a key campaign coordinator for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was assassinated in front of his home on Saturday. He was the returning officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently concluded governorship primary won by Aiyedatiwa. The incident occurred in Supare, Akoko Southwest Local Government area, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

Late in the evening, gunmen targeted Mr. Abbey at his residence, firing fatal shots that claimed his life. The campaign coordinator, known for his dedication and resourcefulness, had been actively working to secure Governor Aiyedatiwa’s re-election. His sudden and violent demise has left the community reeling.

LACO-FSIC (Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council) expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their ward coordinator. They appealed to the police authorities to swiftly investigate the murder and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Hon. David Ajobiewe, the Akoko Southwest Local Government Director-General for LACO-FSIC, echoed the shock and emphasized that Mr. Abbey was never known to be violent or involved in local disputes.

Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi (a.k.a. Carry Go), the convener of LACO-FSIC, conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC leadership in Ondo State.

Mr. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, the State Director-General of LACO-FSIC and Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, condemned the senseless act and expressed sympathy for the victim’s family and friends.
