Atiku Abubakar Calls for Transparency Regarding President Tinubu’s Trip to France

In a recent statement, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has raised questions about President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France. Atiku’s media office has called on the handlers of the president to provide more insight into the nature and purpose of this trip. Atiku asks whether President Tinubu’s engagement in France is open-ended or has a specific duration. He also demands insight into the nature of the “brief work” being undertaken during the trip, emphasizing that transparency is crucial.

Atiku highlights that the president serves as a public steward funded by the nation’s resources, and therefore, Nigerians should be kept informed about travel plans, objectives, and schedules. He draws attention to the Yar’Adua experience, urging a higher standard of transparency.

President Tinubu’s trip to France, which commenced on August 19, marks his fourth visit to the European country since assuming office. However, the presidency has not officially disclosed the purpose of this particular visit.
