Bandits Abduct Mobile Police Officer in Plateau State

In a disturbing incident, bandits abducted a mobile police (Mopol) officer near Kampani community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. Fortunately, the soldier accompanying the officer managed to escape. The abduction occurred on Wednesday evening while the security personnel were traveling from Zurak to Kampani, where they were ambushed.

The officer and soldier were part of a security team assigned to patrol areas affected by banditry, including Bangalala, Kampani, and Zurak. The local community has been grappling with banditry, prompting regular patrols by security forces to safeguard residents. As of now, the whereabouts of the abducted police officer remain unknown.

A joint operation involving soldiers, police officers, and vigilantes has been launched to locate and rescue the kidnapped officer. Both the Police Command and Army are yet to provide an official statement regarding the situation.
