Banks Responsible For Delayed Corpers’ Allowances – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps says it’s not responsible for the delay in the payment of June allowances of serving corps members across the country.

It was made known on the post that banks are responsible for the delay in payment of the allowances.

The NYSC addressed the issue on Sunday in a statement tweeted on its official Twitter handle @officialnyscng.

It, however, said its management is working very hard to ensure that the delay in payment was attended to.

The statement, signed by the Director, Press of the NYSC, Eddy Megwa, partly read:

“For the avoidance of doubt, the scheme completed all arrangements for the payment of corps members’ allowance since June 27, 2023, and remittances made same day to various banks accordingly.

“The delay being currently experienced is due to the administration of funds by various banks who are yet to credit corps members’ accounts.

“In line with the above, the NYSC management is assiduously interfacing with the banks to fast-track the payment of corps members’ June allowance without further delay.”

The delay in payment is surely an affecting issue for the youth corpers a most of them feed on it.
