The controversial chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Adams Oshiomhole was flabbergasted when he was told in plain language that the “president doesn’t want to see you”.
Oshiomhole’s rift with some APC leaders started over his manipulation of the primaries in many states and ‘disrespect’ to foundation members,uncompromising and high-handedness that led some party top shots dumping APC to the opposition PDP, an impeccable source reported.
They accused the party chairman of having no understanding of the difference between the militancy of labour unionism and party politics, causing to almost crashing the ruling party”.
Oshiomhole’s latest showdown with Mallam El-Rufai, popularly known as “the poison of Buhari’s government”, did not end well, as the Kaduna state governor used his closeness to the President to advise President Buhari from allowing Oshiomhole close to him or coming near the Villa.
President Buhari has taken side with El-Rufai who briefed him that Oshiomhole doesn’t mean well for his re-election as he has literally destroyed the party, just few months to the presidential election.
According to Presidency Contacts, the party may hand a no confidence vote on Oshiomhole that will be prelude to his replacement as the party chairman.
