Chinese National Accused of Assault with Electric Shocker, Flees Ogun Factory

A Chinese national identified as Yespon is wanted by Ogun State Police after allegedly assaulting a factory worker with an electric shocker. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 12th, at around 5:30 PM, at a timber factory located along the Ijebu-Ode-Owa Express Road.

According to reports, Yespon, whose father owns the factory, accused Kelvin Godwin, an employee, of stealing flour from the premises. The accusation reportedly escalated into an assault, with Yespon allegedly using an electric shocker on Godwin.

“Our men in the division have intensified efforts to arrest the suspect,” said Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, when contacted on Sunday.

Godwin’s condition following the attack remains unreported.

This incident highlights growing concerns over workplace safety and appropriate employer conduct in Nigeria. Ogun State Police are actively searching for Yespon and urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
