COVID-19: 2022 World cup sites on close watch as five workers test positive to COVID-19 in Qatar

World Cup 2020 host nation, Qatar disclosed on Wednesday that five COVID-19 cases have been discovered on the some world cup preparation sites. The gulf nation has reported seven deaths, 3711 COVID-19 cases and 406 recoveries since on the 6th March but no worker on any world cup sites have been detected positive.

However, the Supreme Committee for Delivery an Legacy (SC) has disclosed that two staff members who work at Al-Thumama stadium project, another worker at Al-Rayyan and two Staff members at Al-Bayt stadium construction.

SC has promised to provide full support to the workers involved including free health care in addition, salaries of the concerned workers would not be stopped irrespective of their state at work.
