COVID-19: Nigeria lost another soul to COVID-19 in Delta State

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Thursday night, announced the death of a COVID-19 patient in the state.

The statement which was contained in a press statement by Mr Olisa Ifeajika, Chief Press Secretary to the governor on Friday in the state capital. Ifeajika noted that the patient had underlying health issues and had visited Lagos in the past two weeks. With the deceased showing severe symptoms had presented himself late for treatment.

The statement claimed that the symptoms showed by the patient include difficulty in breathing, which was the bone of contention for the rapid attention shown to him by medical professionals. Unfortunately, he crossed the great beyond after his specimen was taken for analysis. However, his test result came back positive on Thursday evening.

The state Government has however commenced contact-tracing to ensure that those who had come in contact with the deceased are properly isolated and tested as soon as possible.
