Adedeji Adeleke, the father of popular Afrobeat singer Davido, made a significant philanthropic gesture by donating one billion naira to the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim. The donation was made during a thanksgiving service held at the church’s headquarters in Lagos on Sunday.
The billionaire energy tycoon pledged the substantial sum in honor of his late mother, Nnena Esther Adeleke. Nnena Esther Adeleke held the esteemed position of Senior mother-in-Israel within the church during her lifetime. This role is currently held by Yeyeluwa Modupe Adeleke-Sanni, the younger sister of Davido’s father.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Adeleke’s younger brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ogun state governor Dapo Abiodun, Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Davido himself. The generous donation will contribute to the Centenary Endowment Fund, ensuring a lasting legacy in memory of Mrs. Esther Adeleke.
