Eid-el- Kabir: Ajimotokin Greets Muslims, Preach Unity, Love and Peaceful Coexistence

Irele Local Government Council Boss, Hon. (Barr.) Olusegun Ajimotokin has called on religious leaders in Irele Local Government and in the country, in general, to continue to preach peace and unity to their followers and display love towards one another as only these attributes can make Nigeria attain greatness and return to her glorious era.

He also charged Nigerians to exhibit the spirit of courage, tolerance, fortitude, and enterprise and as well embrace a new direction in the accomplishment of our vision of building a new Nigeria.

Hon. Ajimotokin, who made the call in his Sallah message to all Muslims in the Local Government to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urged Muslim faithful to always emphasize the positive side of the country.

The honorable Chairman also urged the Muslim Ummah to manifest the teachings of sacrifice and love for their fellow countrymen, asking them to ensure total submission to the will of Allah as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.W), which formed the basis of the observance of Eid-el-Kabir.

“All of us should continue to live in peace irrespective of our religious differences and ethnic orientation. We must cement the bond of unity in the nation by reaching out to one another in love”, he said.

He noted that our old way would not lead to the accomplishment of the vision of our founding fathers; we must therefore get together immediately and let the world know that Nigeria is ready to take its rightful place in the comity of nations.

He equally admonished Nigerians to celebrate with moderation while extending the goodwill of the period to the less privileged.

He enjoined Muslim faithful nationwide to reflect on the essence of the Sallah celebration as a mark of God’s love for all mankind.

Hon. Ajimotokin commended the Muslim community in Irele Local Government for their consistent support for his administration.

He reminded Nigerians of the importance of respecting the faiths and beliefs of all and enjoined all Muslim faithful in the Local Government and Nigerians, in general, to use the occasion of the celebration for sober reflection and pray for peace, unity, and progress of the nation.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, it is my hope and prayer that Ramadan’s spiritual lessons and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful coexistence with others, tolerance, honesty, and dedication to duty will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear nation.

While congratulating the entire Muslim Ummah in the Irele Local Government for witnessing yet another Eid-el-Kabir celebration, he appealed for caution, orderliness, and strict adherence to all Covid-19 protocols to prevent the spread of the virus in the wake of the third wave.
