Ekiti Guber: Again, Ondo Governor, Akeredolu Gives N450m to APC in 177 Wards, Others

Ten days to the governorship election in Ekiti State, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has donated another N450 million to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

This is coming a few weeks after he (Akeredolu) reportedly donated a sum of N2.27 billion into Fayemi’s campaign fund as “first commitment” of his total support to the governorship ambition of Fayemi.

The N450 million, which sources revealed was handed to Fayemi in cash on Saturday last week for onward transmission to the 177 wards.

Apart from the 13 wards in Ado Local Government, each of the wards is to get N2 million. The 13 wards in Ado will get N5 million each and the largesse is expected to be shared this week Friday “to enable adequate mobilization of members for the next Saturday election.

“Excos in the 16 local councils are also get N2 million each while N10 million while the remaining N15 million is earmarked for some selected leaders of the party, especially those who just decamped from PDP,” the source revealed.

Governor Akeredolu, who is said to be working on what is termed “Ondo template” for the Ekiti election had assured Fayemi that he was ready to spend two months allocation of Ondo State allocations to ensure Fayemi’s election as governor.

“The N450 million was to ‘wet the grounds’ in readiness for the naira rain on July 14 because as much as N20,000 will be offered per vote.

“With 300,000 being targeted, Fayemi will get N6 billion for the purpose of buying votes alone while huge funds will be made available to him for other logistics,” the source said further.
