Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has dismissed the recommendation for his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a political farce.
This recommendation was made by the Dare Adeleke-led Caretaker Committee, which has urged the PDP’s National Working Committee to take action against Fayose.
In a statement issued by his aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose described the committee as a group of “political jesters.”
Olayinka challenged the committee to proceed with the expulsion if they believe they have the authority to do so.
He stated, “What are they waiting for? They should just go ahead and expel Fayose from the party since they now have powers of life and death.”
Olayinka further criticized the committee for excluding Fayose and his allies from its composition and for constituting a local government caretaker body without PDP constitutional backing.
He also accused Adeleke of boasting about removing Fayose from the party in Ekiti State.
Olayinka questioned why the committee continues to focus on Fayose, stating that Fayose reserves the right to make his own decisions and form his own alliances.
“What are they waiting for? They should just go ahead and expell Fayose from the party since they now have powers of life and death. After all, their own Caretaker is with so much power that it can change the structure of a house it is managing for the owners.
“The composition of the Caretaker Committee excluded Fayose and his people, we did not complain. We only said for every action, counter actions should be expected.
“Dare Adeleke constituted Local Government Caretaker Committee, which has no place in the Constitution of the PDP and excluded Fayose and his people, we did not complain.
“They were holding meetings up and down, boasting that they have removed Fayose from the PDP in Ekiti State, we still did not complain.
“So what exactly do they want from Fayose?
“Or when you barred a man from coming to your house, the man does not have right to go to the house of those who are willing to give him red carpet reception?
“Since he is done with his assignment of taking Fayose out of Ekiti PDP, shouldn’t Dare Adeleke just go back to his Ibadan and return to Ekiti in 2026 to vote for the PDP?”
