Federal GOVERNMENT Does Not Own Power TCN Hit Back At Reps

The hope to access free power supply is already become a mirage to Nigerians as the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN faulted the dexterities of the legislative arm of government for such propaganda as the company regard the feasibility of the plan to be untrue.

Discos made this announcement through Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors. Reacting to the information on Thursday, the Managing Director of The TCN, Usman Mohammed noted that power cannot be available for free as it is not owned by the Federal Government. He said, “There is this information that power is going to be free. I don’t know where that information came from. But I can tell you that there is nothing like power is going to be free.”

He noted the government only own TCN and not power distribution companies which possess a lot of private individuals, as he explained that government is only responsible for transmission; which is just the transporter. He however regarded the information that there would be free power supply during the lockdown as a mere propaganda.

“In the electricity industry, apart from transmission, which is just the transporter, all the other chains do not belong to the Federal Government. So I cannot understand how somebody will concoct that information.” Mohammed argued that those peddling the information were merely sharing propaganda that would not work.” he added.
