Our attention has been drawn to reports in some quarters, misleading the general public in believing that Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in next year’s governorship election, whose town of birth falls within Ondo Southern Senatorial district contributed little or nothing to the ongoing restoration of electricity back to the district, after seven years of total blackout.
However, this report is laughable, highly pedestrian and speak volume of the irrational characters spreading falsehood in the name of politics.
To clear the erroneous doubt and cheep blackmail championed by these unscrupulous elements masquerading to discredit his efforts, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye with his wide connections at the early stage of the disconnection from National grid met with the Chairman, House Committee On Power, Steel, Development & Metallurgy, Hon. Daniel Asuquo, to ascertain the level of damage and worked out modalities to ensure the southern senatorial district of the state is reconnected to the National grid earlier before recording negative effects of paralyzing business activities within the district.
We also received the commendation and resounding applause given by some senior citizens in Ikale land as an attestation to productive roles played by Otunba Bamidele Akingboye in ensuring the people of Ondo south senatorial district are provided with adequate electricity supply for the growth of businesses and other relevant activities required of electricity.
Otunba Akingboye also testified to admiration from the paramount ruler and Abodi of Ikale Land, HRM. Oba Francis Faduyile, who showered admonition on Otunba Bamidele Akingboye for deploying his resources worth good value towards ensuring a well conducive environment for residents.
Also, on many occasions, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye called the Managing Director of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), to receive feedbacks on the level of installation going on in the district.
We, however berate and caution the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state to desist from selling falsehood which would neither correct their political misfortune nor erase the impression of bad leadership the party is widely known for.
It is on this note, that Otunba Bamidele Akingboye for the love of mankind, his immediate society and responsive but laced with quality leadership will further the course to ensure all communities within the Ondo south senatorial district are connected to the National grid and metered accordingly.
