Former President Jonathan Inaugurates Edo State Secretariat, Applauds Governor’s Initiatives

Edo State has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new Secretariat Complex by former President Goodluck Jonathan. The event, which took place in the state capital, Benin City, was a celebration of the state’s commitment to modernizing its administrative infrastructure.

The former President, along with his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, unveiled the complex, which is expected to streamline the operations of the state’s civil service. Jonathan lauded the efforts of Governor Godwin Obaseki, stating, “The completion of this complex is a testament to the foresight and dedication of the state government to enhance the efficiency of its administrative functions.”

The ceremony also saw the laying of the foundation stone for a new auditorium within the complex, named the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Auditorium, which will accommodate up to 1,500 individuals for various state events.

In addition to these developments, a groundbreaking ceremony for a new childcare facility was held, reflecting the state government’s commitment to supporting its workforce by providing essential services for their families.

Governor Obaseki thanked the former President for his support and highlighted the significance of the projects, “These initiatives are part of our broader strategy to foster a conducive work environment and promote excellence in public service.”

The inauguration was attended by a host of dignitaries and public servants who commended the state’s progress. The Secretariat Complex, with its modern amenities, is poised to become a cornerstone of effective governance in Edo State.
