Renowned popular indigenous gospel artiste Yinka Ayefele has filed a lawsuit against the Oyo State Government over plans to demolish his radio station.
It was reported that the Oyo state Government has written several letter to his radio house, claiming that the building would be demolished to allow for expansion of the road.
The singer said that the Governor’s motive to demolish his music house which accommodates his radio station pointed to an “obvious fact that the state government is really up to something evil.”
According to Punch, the state government has contravened “the state’s planning laws” for marking the building for demolition.
Ayefele through his counsel, Olayinka Bolanle, made it known in court that he got an approval from the state government before constructing the building.
Bolanle told the court that the singer is seeking an order restraining the government from the building till the case has been settled in court.
The case was adjourned till Monday for hearing.
