I Will Be The First To Receive First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine In Edo State

Governor Godwin Obaseki, Edo State

The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, on Friday said he would take the lead as the first person in his state to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to boost the citizens’ confidence to be inoculated against the disease.

Obaseki gave the assurance shortly after inspecting the state medical store facilities in Benin City. Obaseki said, “I will take mine. If I take mine and I am okay, that will give confidence to Edo people.

“The preventive protocols will still be in place; don’t forget that it will take a while to vaccinate almost 80 per cent of the population, which is expected to be vaccinated.”

Recall, that President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo will be taking their dose of vaccines in Abuja today. Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has vowed not to take the vaccines even as he declares he won’t allow his people been used as guniea pigs.
