I Will Repay Silva Faith – Alex Iwobi Vows

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi is relishing his reunion with Marco Silva at Craven Cottage after Fulham completed the signing of the Nigerian midfielder in a deal worth £22m.

The Nigeria international signed a five-year deal with the Cottagers and said Silva was instrumental in convincing him to move back to London.

Silva signed Iwobi to Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019, but the Portuguese was dismissed three months later when the Toffees struggled to get results.

Speaking on why he opted to join Fulham, the 27-year-old said the ambition of the club and the faith Silva has in him lured him to the club.

“I’m buzzing, I just can’t wait to get started, I’m excited to start my journey here,” he said.

“Marco Silva spoke to me about the ambitions of the Club, and I’m on board. Hopefully, I can bring something to the Club.

“It is the second time he signed me and this is with a charm. He wants to challenge for titles. He gave me confidence when he signed me at Everton and I hope I can repay his faith in me. He believes in my abilities. I can’t wait to work under him again.
