If We Must Hand Over Igboho, We Will Follow The Rule Of Law – Benin Republic Tells Nigerian Government

The Government of Republic of Benin has said it will not handover Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popular known as Sunday Igboho to Nigeri, without due process.

The Department of State Services had attempted to extradite Igboho to its Abuja office on Wednesday, but Benin Republic insisted that the extradition process must follow the rule of law.

Zebra News also gathered that Igboho’s legal team in Benin Republic were in talks with the Beninise government. Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested while trying to catch a flight to Germany.

Despite pressure from the Nigerian government, the government of Benin had insisted on following due process including a repatriation hearing to determine whether or not Igboho was guilty as accused by the Nigerian secret police.
