I’M Not Interested In NDDC Appointment – Ondo State Deputy Governor

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi

The Ondo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi on Monday denied reports that he was lobbying for the top position in the Niger Delta Development Commission. Agboola alleged that the reports were orchestrated by some of his enemies to blackmail him

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Leke Akeredolu, in a statement, the deputy governor said the report was allegedly sponsored by some disgruntled politicians in the state for the purpose of heating up the state ahead of 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.

The statement read in part, “Agboola Ajayi cannot be sneezing and also be whispering at the same time. He is content with his current position as the elected deputy governor of the state.

“Let me clearly state that the deputy governor has neither lobbied nor has the intention of becoming the Managing Director of NDDC.

“It is bewildering and laughable that those behind the news story would allege that Agboola Ajayi has been making secret consultations with his alleged associates without the knowledge of his boss, Governor Akeredolu.”

The statement also declared that there was no crisis between the deputy governor and his boss (Akeredolu), saying Agboola was loyal and committed to the vision and mission of the Akeredolu-led’s administration.
