American professional soccer club, Inter Miami announced on Friday, that it will hold a presentation event, on July 16 at its home stadium, to unveil its new star player, Lionel Messi.
The presentation was called ‘The Unveil’ by the American club.
Messi, who won the last World Cup with Argentina, announced his movement to the Major League Soccer club after his contract expired at Paris Saint-Germain.
“Speeches on the pitch, exciting entertainment, and more will be included in the major unveiling event” the club said in a press release.
His former Barcelona teammates, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are expected join Messi at Miami.
The club also appointed former Barcelona and Argentina coach Gerardo Martino as the new manager for the team.
Messi is expected to make his debut on July 21 against Mexican club Cruz Azul in the new Leagues Cup — a tournament between top flight clubs from MLS and the Mexican league.
Inter Miami majority owner Jorge Mas has said the club could make “three to five signings” during the current transfer window.
Inter Miami is at the bottom of MLS’ Eastern Conference and ranked 28th of 29 clubs in the league.
“The Unveil” will be conducted at the club’s DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, north of Miami.
Former England and Manchester United midfielder David Beckham, who’s a co-owner of the club, is likely to appear at the event.
