The Nigerian Army has launched a new military operation in Plateau state, to end killings the state.
The operation was code-named Operation Hakorin Damisa IV.
Hakorin Damisa when translated means Leopard’s teeth.
Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, launched the new operation on Saturday, in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state said the aim
He said the operation was specifically to end the spate of attacks and killings in the LGA.
He said the operation is not only to end killings in the LGA, but other parts of the state too.
More than 300 persons had been killed in Mangu LGA and the neighboring communities following a series of attacks by gunmen in the last two months.
After addressing troops deployed to carry out Operation Hakorin Damisa, the Chief of Army Staff moved to a Pilot Primary school in the community to have a meeting with the stakeholders
