Ndi Enugu State on Friday, the 27th day of January, 2023 once again reaffirmed their stand on the choice of their next governor as they trooped out in their numbers to support the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at its official campaign flag off at Okpara Square, Enugu.
The flag off campaign which was like a carnival witnessed different supporters of the party across the different communities and local government areas of the state. They assured Dr. Mbah and other PDP candidates of the state 100 percent votes at the pools.
A political leader in the state, Hon. Nnamani, described Dr. Peter Mbah, governorship candidate of the party, as a man with the capacity to deliver on the people’s mandate having carved a niche for himself in the private sector.
Mbah who had already toured the entire state and engaged directly with the people at various town-hall meetings, while thanking the good people of Enugu for their unflinching support, revealed that when he becomes governor, he will build on the existing infrastructure, grow the economy seven-fold, create millions of job opportunities for the teeming youths, attract healthy investments and steer the state out of the parlous national economy.
Governor Ugwuanyi on his part expressed delight in the reaffirmation of the electorate that they would still vote for the PDP again. It is important to note that, some leaders of the opposition parties in the state who attended the flag off ceremony collapsed their parties’ support base, pledging to work for Dr. Mbah’s emergence as governor.
The G5 governors who were also in attendance expressed delight that Enugu state has remained a PDP state since 1999. Governor Nyesom Wike in his characteristic manner entertained the good people of Enugu and also reassured them that with the emergence of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, tomorrow is indeed here.
