Nigerian Singer Portable Arrested Over Unpaid G-Wagon Debt

Last night, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. The arrest followed a complaint filed by a car dealer over an unpaid debt for a G-Wagon worth N27 million.

Portable, known for his hit single “Zazuu” and his controversial antics, had made an initial payment of N13 million for the luxury vehicle but failed to settle the remaining N14 million. Despite repeated attempts by the car dealer to collect the balance, Portable allegedly claimed that the vehicle was defective.

The situation escalated when the singer attempted to evade arrest by jumping over a gate but was swiftly apprehended by the police. A video of the incident, which has since gone viral, shows Portable in a tense standoff with the police before his attempted escape.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, stating that the singer was taken into custody after the car dealer’s report. This is not the first time Portable has been on the wrong side of the law; he was previously arrested and arraigned over allegations of assault on an ex-signee.

Portable’s arrest has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with many fans expressing their concern over the singer’s repeated legal issues. The case is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
