Nigerian Traders Protest At Ecowas Secretariat

Nigerian traders have stormed the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

The traders under the National Association of Nigerian Traders stormed the place in protest against the closure of shops belonging to Nigerians in Ghana.

Zebra News gathered that the protest started at 9:30am and grounded activities at the ECOWAS Secretariat.

The protesters took to through the streets of Yakubu Gowon way in Asokoro, leading to traffic gridlock.

According to the President of NANT Ken Ukaoha, Nigerian businessmen are being victimized in Ghana.

He noted that the Ghanaian parliament is seeking to make laws that would ground Nigerian businesses.

In addition, he said the body is giving ECOWAS a one-week ultimatum to intervene in the matter.
