Oby Ezekwesili, Wole Soboyejo, Others to Speak at Edusko’s Business of Education Summit

The fifth edition of The Business of Education Summit is set to hold in Lagos, Nigeria, on the 28th October, 2021. The annual event is organised by Edusko Africa, Africa’s largest education marketplace.

The annual summit conveys hundreds of education stakeholders in Nigeria and beyond to deliberate and proffer actionable solutions to problems in Africa’s education system in order to build a better future for the current and coming generations of African children.

Speaking on the 2021 edition, Edusko Africa’s CEO, Jide Ayegbusi says the summit will focus on how we can open up the possibilities of science, technology, and innovation in our schools.

According to Jide, “STI has been a driver of economic growth and development all over the world. While advanced economies have used their education system to champion STI development, African schools appear to be playing no active role in the development of STI. For example, a report by UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) shows that several countries in Africa have no active policy or plan to implement science and technology into the education system. It is in recognition of this that we have chosen this year’s theme”.

“At this year’s edition of the Business of Education Summit, subject matter experts and renowned innovators would be convened to dissect how we can place science, technology and innovation at the epicenter of Africa’s socio-economic development and growth through our education system. We will discuss the impact of STI on critical sectors and how our education system can be an enabler”.

Speaking on the lineup of speakers and panelists at this year’s edition, Jide Ayegbusi has this to say, “This year, we are happy to announce that some of the world-renowned scientists, innovators, educationists and thought leaders from across the globe have honoured our invitation to share their perspectives with the delegates.”
