Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central at the National Assembly, has made a significant contribution to legal education and research by donating a state-of-the-art digital e-library to lawyers in the Akure Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The e-library, valued at millions of Naira, includes the following features:

  • All-Inclusive HP Desktop Computers and Laptops: Lawyers now have access to modern technology for legal research and documentation through four HP Desktop Computers and four HP Laptop computers.
  • Internet Connectivity: Twenty hours of internet supply ensure seamless access to online legal resources.
  • Alternative Power Source: The e-library is powered by a 3.5 KVA solar inverter, providing uninterrupted electricity even during power outages.
  • Comprehensive Legal Resources: Lawyers can access electronic versions of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, as well as laws from various states in the country.
  • Air-Conditioned Library Hall: The comfortable and conducive library space allows lawyers to study, collaborate, and engage in legal discussions effectively.

Banjo Aiyenakin, the NBA Akure branch chairman, expressed gratitude to Senator Adegbonmire for this generous initiative. He emphasized that the digital e-library would significantly enhance lawyers’ capacity to perform their duties effectively in the state. Aiyenakin also encouraged legal professionals to utilize the facilities daily, as the equipment is fully powered and operational.

The event was attended by Olayide Adelami, Ondo State Deputy Governor, and Olusegun Odusola, the Chief Judge of the State. Both dignitaries praised Senator Adegbonmire’s leadership and urged others to follow his example in supporting legal education and research.

This remarkable donation underscores the importance of leveraging technology to empower legal professionals and advance the legal profession in Nigeria. Senator Adegbonmire’s commitment to enhancing legal resources will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the legal community in Ondo State.
