Opera News Awards Customers In World Cup Promo

Africa most downloaded news app, Opera News has given away one of her two brand new 2018 Kia Rios car to a 24 year-old student and entrepreneur, miss Akinpelumi Oladayo who won the car by participating in the Opera News’ Shake contest.

The car gift was presented to the winner on Tuesday in the presence of her parents and friends at the public viewing of the match between Nigeria and Argentina organised by the App in Lagos.

During the half time of the game which Nigeria lose to Argentina, many of the viewers were also rewarded with phones and Jerseys.

Expressing her delight after the presentation, Oladayo said, “I was shocked. I was a doubting Thomas when I was announced as the winner of the new car during the match between Nigeria and Iceland. I didn’t expect it and now I’m winning myself a car.

“I was announced the winner of this car same week I promised to buy a car for my mother. I can only say that this is a dream come true and it is unbelievable. I’m so happy right now. Thank you, Opera News.”

According to the App Global Head of Marketing and Distribution, Jorgen Arnesen, the car was the biggest prize of them all. “There is one more car that we will be giving away in Nigeria so we suggest for people to keep playing with the app and to keep an eye on our social media channels.”

“Since the start of the 2018 football World Cup in Russia, Opera News introduced a fun, new feature called “Shake” in which users only needed to shake their phones to win amazing prizes every day.

The car was given away by Opera News in collaboration with Jumia through an interesting competition in which users needed to collect nine pieces of a car puzzle to win the major prize. In the end, users who completed the nine puzzle pieces entered a raffle, and the winner was randomly selected from the raffle draw.
