Please Give us Rules to Follow, Okada Riders Chairman Appeal to Sanwo-Olu

Concerning the announcement by Federal Government on ease of the lockdown on Lagos,Ogun and Abuja from Monday 4th day in May, the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycles and Motorcycles Owners Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) under the leadership of Lagos State Chairman Comrade Ogundare Olaoluwa Theophilus has plead with the Lagos State governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to please allow the commercial motor cyclists to work as they too are really affected by the luckdown.

According to Olaoluwa, he commended the efforts the amiable governor had made so far towards curbing the dreadful pandemic by putting some measure in use. However, he said he is using this medium to plead to governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on behalf of Okada riders to allow them to work too starting from as soon as possible but certain rules will be given in which they will adhere strictly to.

“We are aware of the great danger of the pandemic disease and we have planned to try our possible best to fight it, we shall make sure every okada rider has sanitizer for his passenger, he must use face mask and will be arrested by our monitoring unit if he lift a passenger that didn’t use face mask, he must not carry two passenger and any other rule the governor want to add to it”.

Responding to how will the okada riders adhere strictly to the rules Ogundare said ” Like I said earlier we have monitoring unit that will be out monitoring within the given period,and we shall seize any motorcycle found guilty by acting against the stipulated rules because we shall make them sign some papers before plying the roads and we shall also help to hand over such violator to the police”.

Conclusively,Comrade Ogundare pleaded that each of them have family to feed and they depend on their daily income like some other people so the Lagos State government should allow them to work too but give them rules to follow as he has strongly warn members of his association to wait till when the governor will hear their plead.
