Police Apprehend UNIPORT Student, Three Others For Abduction

Men of the Rivers State Police Command have nabbed a final year student of the University of Port Harcourt and three others for alleged abduction .

The student was said to have been arrested by men of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team based on a tip – off.
It was gathered that the students and others were involved in the abduction of one Blessing Kime inside a church in Rumuekini, Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area of the state .

A community source stated that the student , whose name had not been disclosed , was an armourer , who also ran errand for kidnappers .

It was reported that Kime was released on June 16 , 2017 after staying in the kidnappers ’ den for about three days .

Sources stated that ransom was allegedly paid before Kime finally regained her freedom .

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr . Nnamdi Omoni , could not be reached immediately to confirm the abduction of the student and three others .
