Police Discovered Three Decomposing Bodies In Delta

Inuwa

The detecting sights of Delta State Police Command has discovered three decomposing bodies along the Illah-Ugbolu Road in the Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

The police spokesperson in the state, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, claimed that personnel of the state command found the bodies along the road, on Tuesday.

Onovwakpoyeya stated, “Our men found three bodies in the bush along the road, but they were already decomposing, so we couldn’t identify them.

“We don’t know what caused their death, but it is obvious that they were not killed there. Their corpses were brought and dumped there.

“For now, we cannot identify who they are, because the bodies are already decomposing. Investigation is ongoing because the bodies were dumped there.”

Onovwakpoyeya, however, claimed that the mutilated bodies could not be immediately identified by the Divisional Police Officer of the Illah Police Division and some elders of the Ugbolu community, who visited the scene.

However, some residents of the area stated that the surrounding had become a flashpoint for herders and kidnappers.

Furthermore, Victor Ojei, who is the Director-General, Young Nigerian Rights Organisation said, “We can now see reason with the Executive Chairman of the Local Government when he gave an order to everyone illegally occupying bushes in any part of the local government to leave with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the law.

“We certainly cannot fold our arms and watch our brethren have their lives cut short by evildoers. Enough is enough.”

In response to this, the Chairman of the local government council, Mr Louis Ndokwe, had ordered all herdsmen living in camps built in the bushes to come out and live in the community or face the wrath of the law.
