In a chilling discovery, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has exhumed the bodies of marine hunters from the Ministry of Internal Security and Inland Waterways who were kidnapped, murdered, and buried by notorious criminals in Unyenghe, Mbo Local Government Area. The police, acting on a tip-off, launched an intensive search operation that led to the grim find. The bodies were found in shallow graves, with their heads dismembered, a testament to the brutality of the crime.

The police have arrested several suspects in connection with the murders, including the Village Head of Utit Antai, Chief Okon Asuquo Eteokpo, who is alleged to have been an ally and spiritual fortifier for the criminals. The suspects, identified as Anthony Archibong, Emmanuel Emmanuel Otoyo, Daniel Edet Okon, Eniete Harry Tom, and Joseph Okon, were apprehended with 15 live cartridges in their possession.

The police spokesperson, Timfon John, stated that the command is committed to ridding the state of crime and criminal elements. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station to aid in maintaining security and order in the community.
