Presidency Roasts Peter Obi Over Comment On ‘The Candidates

Peter Obi and Lauretta Onochie

A presidential aide Lauretta Onochie has blasted the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Peter Obi for lying on national television.

Lauretta said this in a reaction to Obi’s comment on “The Candidates” which was a programme anchored by journalist Kadaria Ahmed to let political contestants tell the masses their plans.

The programme was held on Wednesday with Obi and Atiku Abubakar who is the party’s presidential candidate in attendance.

During the programme, Obi had said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) promised to make a naira equals one dollar.

However, Lauretta berated the former Anambra State governor for peddling a lie as the APC never made such comment.

In a tweet on her handle, the Delta-born woman lamented that people of Obi’s irk ought not to occupy public space talk more of telling Nigerians to elect him.

“Some people think if they keep repeating a lie, then our people will believe them,” she tweeted.

“Such people should not occupy our public space, let alone seek to be elected. Joker.”

Atiku will be vying for the presidential seat with Muhammadu Buhari of the APC his major opposition.

Zebra News understands that Atiku was a former vice president during the President Olusegun Obasanjo government of 1999 to 2007.
