Presidential Aspirant Urges Buhari To Go Home And Rest

President Muhammadu Buhari should resign before the 2019 elections, a presidential aspirant of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has said.

Olawepo-Hashim spoke in Abuja on Wednesday while submitting his nomination and expression of interest form at the Party’s secretariat.

He also promised that the ANN would implement a New Economic Development Programme NEDP.

According to him, this would lead to the expansion of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product GDP to 4 trillion dollars in ten years.
“This development obviously will make Nigeria be at par with middle-income countries like Malaysia, with whom we had [a] comparable income level at independence,” Olawepo noted.

He further said that “I respect President Muhammadu Buhari as a father. He is our Baba and we are his children.

“I will not insult him because we don’t insult people as a party and where I come from. But the truth is, President Buhari needs to go and rest. ANN is practically prepared to give him a befitting rest.”

Similarly, he said “I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together and most assured that I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment.

“I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant one, by investing in iron and steel, research and development, and in other critical sectors of the economy.”
