Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on the leadership of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) to uphold transparency and accountability in their service to the people. During a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of NSITF, Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye, and the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives’ Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of responsible and responsive service delivery for the benefit of Nigerians.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to civil servants’ welfare and expressed willingness to collaborate with NSITF to achieve its objectives. Despite having a robust insurance package for its workforce, Lagos State aims to explore the benefits of the Fund for workers and Lagosians. The two-day retreat organized by NSITF, themed “Building a Stronger NSITF,” aims to deepen stakeholder engagement and enhance the organization’s performance.
Senator Diket Plang, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership and encouraged other governors to learn from Lagos. The House of Representatives Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, led by Hon. Adegboyega Adefarati, also participated in the retreat, demonstrating the National Assembly’s commitment to ensuring NSITF’s effective functioning.
