Sanwo-Olu’s Wife Hosts Spelling Bee Winners

The Lagos State Governor’s wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has hosted spelling bee winners at the Lagos House, Ikeja and Marina.

A one-day Governor was chosen among the winners of the last spelling bee competition.

Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mrs Anike Adekanye, and the Director-General Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, led the spelling bee winners to the Office and Residence of the First Lady, a statement revealed on Wednesday.

Dr Sanwo-Olu warmly received the spelling bee winners, their principals, teachers, friends and family members at Marina.

She said the visit to her office and official residence was a way of encouraging and exposing the students to governance and also accord them the privileges of interacting with her directly.

Thee governor’s wife told them to truly aspire to become future governors and influential personalities in the society.

She said that can help bring about the much-needed changes in the country.

She said, “I am very convinced that you will all become great personalities in the near future.

“I urge you to replicate good governance better than what you have experienced and are still experiencing here in Lagos.

“Provide more platforms for those coming behind you the same way this idea of the one-day governor was institutionalised some years back.”

AbdulAzeez AbdulRahmon of Oriwu Senior Model College won the 2022 edition of the spelling bee.

He was given the honour of becoming the one-day governor this year.
