Thunderstorms, Rains To Prevail On Tuesday– NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rains over some parts of the country for Tuesday, August 21.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday, August 19, also predicted thunderstorm over Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Bauchi, parts of Borno, Gombe, and Yobe.
The agency said the thunderstorms would be expected over Bauchi, Yelwa, Kebbi, Dutse, Nguru, part of Borno, Adamawa, Gombe and environs during the afternoon and evening period.
NiMet said day and night temperature in the northern region would be in the ranges of 28 to 32 degree Celsius and 21 to 23 degree Celsius respectively.
The agency envisaged thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Abuja, Adamawa, Taraba, Mambilla Plateau, Benue, and Niger in the morning hours.
NiMet said that the storm would linger into the afternoon, adding that it would extend to Kwara and Kogi during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency put the day and night temperature in the central region at 28 to 31 degree Celsius and 22 to 24 degree Celsius respectively.
NiMet also predicted that the temperature in Jos would be between 24 and 17 degree Celsius, noting that thunderstorms will prevail throughout the forecast period in the South Eastern region.
