U-20 AFCON: Eagles Coach Speaks Ahead Niger Showdown

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria During Training

Flying Eagles will give their all in the game against Niger at the Africa U -20 Cup of Nations, according to team coach, Paul Aigbogun.

Nigeria will need to avoid defeat in their last group game with the hosts on Friday having drawn barren with South Africa in their second encounter.

Although they lead the Group A standing having garnered four points from two matches, the team must go all out against the hosts, says Aigbogun.

”It’s a normal game that we could not avoid. One thing we know is that Niger is a good team,” he said at his pre-match press conference at the Seyni Kountche Stadium on Thursday.

“Against South Africa it was difficult despite playing well but we will work hard against Niger. We will fight to win.”

The four semi-finalists at the competition will represent Africa at the 2019 U-20 World Cup in Poland later in the year.

Already, Senegal have qualified for the tournament after they saw off Ghana 2-0 on Wednesday.
