UI Student, Boniface Wins FBI Competition In Marketing Innovation

In a remarkable achievement, Abah Boniface, a student from the University of Ibadan, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Future Brand Idol (FBI) Competition in Marketing Innovation. The competition, which took place in Lagos, saw Boniface presenting the most innovative marketing idea, earning him the top prize of 200,000 Naira.

The event, which has become a significant platform for showcasing marketing talent from Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, also awarded Evidence Olowu, another student from the University of Ibadan, the second-place prize of 150,000 Naira. Promise Olamilekan from Kwara State Polytechnic secured the third position with a prize of 50,000 Naira.

Beyond the cash prizes, the winners received scholarship opportunities from O2 Academy Lagos and internship placements with leading PR and advertising firms, providing them with invaluable real-world experience and educational advancement. This year’s competition was distinguished by the introduction of the Michael Felix Nyeche Award for Marketing Innovation, underscoring a commitment to advancing education and marketing communication through groundbreaking strategies and creative thinking.

Mr. Michael Felix Nyeche, a visionary in Development Communications, Social and Public Policy, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the importance of nurturing the next generation of marketing leaders in Nigeria. He emphasized the need to address the brain drain in the country by empowering students and educators through innovation and capacity development.
