Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has reaffirmed the state’s unwavering commitment to completing the Military Armoured Division project in Illela Local Government Area. The armoured division aims to enhance security along the border areas and counter the activities of armed bandits that have affected parts of the state.Governor Aliyu stated that arrangements are underway to compensate individuals whose lands are being used for the armoured division site.
To ensure a military presence in this region, a temporary site has been provided while work continues on the permanent site. These efforts align with the campaign promises made to residents living in banditry-affected areas.Additionally, Governor Aliyu assured the people of Illela of his administration’s readiness to execute road projects, culverts, drainage systems, and the installation of 260 solar-powered street lights.
The state government is also working on reconnecting Illela to the national grid, with significant progress already made in covering more than four out of the eight local government areas in Sokoto East.During his visit to Gada, Gwadabawa, and Kware Local Governments, the Governor emphasized further developmental projects, including asphalted roads, feeder roads, motorized boreholes, and the renovation of Jumu’at mosques.
The state government’s unwavering support has contributed to improved security in these communities.Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the APC leader in the state, expressed gratitude to the visited communities and assured them of the present administration’s commitment to their well-being.
