World Music Day: Duro Ikujenyo, Others Light Up Abuja Today

Popular musician and pianist, Duro Ikujenyo along with other musicians are set to serenade in Abuja as he joins others in celebrating World Music Day.

This is in line with the idea of the music festival to make merry and use the power of music to make the world a better place, As part of the World Music Day Festival 2022 organized at the Institut Francais Du Nigeria in Wuse 2, Abuja from June 21st until June 25th 2022, Duro Ikujenyo and the age of Aquarius has been invited to perform.

The music festival comprises of a series of events like a jam session and open stage with local musicians in Abuja. Duro Ikujenyo who has been a musician for three decades now will bring his experience to bear as he performs with the 7 piece age of Aquarius band.

Duro Ikujenyo will also be performing tracks from his new album titled Black and white Oha earlier presented in the Bogobiri House on Africa day on 25th of May 2022.

The pianist and accomplished musician and musicologist has recorded six albums now. He was a member of the Egypt 80 Band and worked with the legendary, Fela Kuti.

Aside providing French lessons, courses and examinations for children, students and professionals alike, the institute’s cultural center participates actively to the local and national art scene, by organising hundreds of cultural events every year, on a local, regional or national basis. There will later be a book launch titled, ‘The Green We left Behind’.

World Music Day is celebrated to provide free music for all music lovers and to provide a platform for amateur and professional musicians to showcase their talents to the world. It is celebrated to highlight the importance of music and how it is beneficial for the human mind and body.

Guests are invited to see the electrifying performance of Duro Ikujenyo and the age of Aquarius band this evening at the Institute du Francaise in Wuse 2, Abuja.
