Jimoh Ibrahim withdraws case against Gov. Aiyedatiwa over APC Guber primary

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has withdrawn his suit challenging the emergence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State. This development comes after a series of legal battles and political maneuvering.

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim made this decision known in a letter of withdrawal that he signed and made available to TVC News. His decision to withdraw the suit is based on the intervention of President Bola Tinubu, who had a meeting with him regarding the issue. President Tinubu, as the leader of the party, promised to improve internal democracy and other processes within the APC.

Senator Ibrahim had initially challenged the outcome of the April 20 primary of the APC, which was won by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The primary election was a crucial step in determining the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election in Ondo State.

With Senator Ibrahim’s withdrawal, a major obstacle faced by Governor Aiyedatiwa has been resolved. As the election draws near, this development clears the path for a smoother electoral process in Ondo State.
