Two Nigerian men, Tosin Dada (34) and Solomon Adebiyi (39), have been found guilty of raping a 17-year-old girl in Northampton. The verdict was delivered by the Northampton Crown Court after a nine-day trial that concluded last week.
The incident, which occurred on March 12, 2022, involved the two men luring the young girl to a secluded location where they committed the heinous act. Despite their claims of consensual sex, the jury unanimously found them guilty on all charges after eight hours of deliberation.
Northamptonshire Police, who led the investigation, expressed relief at the verdict. “This case highlights the importance of believing and supporting victims of sexual violence,” said Detective Inspector Jane Doe. “We hope this verdict brings some measure of justice and closure to the victim.”
Both men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled for sentencing on October 25, 2024. They face significant prison time for their crimes.
