Ondo Governor attends Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Commissioning

On Sunday, Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, stood alongside other state leaders to witness a historic event—the flag off of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the commissioning of the reconstructed Apapa-Oworonsoki-Ojota expressway. The ceremony, presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marks a significant milestone for the region and promises improved connectivity and economic growth.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a major infrastructure project that will connect Lagos in the southwest to Calabar in the southeast. Spanning approximately 1,400 kilometers, this highway will traverse several states, including Ondo. Its completion will enhance transportation, trade, and tourism, benefiting both residents and businesses along its route.

The Apapa-Oworonsoki-Ojota expressway, which was commissioned during the same event, is a critical artery for Lagos. This expressway connects the bustling Apapa port area to the mainland, easing the movement of goods and reducing traffic congestion. The reconstruction of this road is a testament to the commitment of the Ondo State government to regional development and efficient logistics.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office in December 2023, has wasted no time in prioritizing infrastructure development. His administration has awarded contracts for over 60 kilometers of roads across Ondo State, demonstrating a commitment to improving transportation networks and fostering economic growth. Residents have praised the quality and speed of road construction projects under his leadership.

As the news of these infrastructure projects spreads, journalists are eager to interview Governor Aiyedatiwa and other stakeholders. Questions about funding, timelines, and the impact on local communities are likely to dominate discussions. Additionally, experts in transportation and urban planning may provide insights into the long-term benefits of these initiatives.
