Bobrisky: US Organization Pledges Support, Calls Arrest Unconstitutional

US-based organization DPA International has announced plans to provide legal and humanitarian assistance to Nigerian celebrity Bobrisky. Bobrisky, known for his flamboyant cross-dressing, was recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged tampering with Naira notes.

DPA International claims Bobrisky is being targeted for his self-expression and that the arrest is a violation of his constitutional rights and international treaties. The organization plans to petition the US State Department and Congress, alongside sending a delegation to visit Bobrisky in custody.

“Cross-dressing is an art form and Bobrisky is a talented artist,” stated the DPA founder in a press release. “It is not a crime. To use the pretext of protecting Naira notes to punish him is unacceptable.”

Bobrisky’s arrest on April 3rd sparked debate in Nigeria. While the EFCC maintains he violated laws against currency mutilation, some see it as an attack on Bobrisky’s lifestyle.

DPA International’s involvement adds a new layer to the case. Whether their efforts will influence the Nigerian legal system remains to be seen.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for further updates.
